What does my dream mean?

A while ago I had a dream and it was one of those that feels very real so that when you wake up you're really disorientated and it takes you a long time to realise that you're back in the real world again. It made me feel really strange afterwards.

I dreamt that me and my cousin were being chased through a city, it looked like Masyaf or somewhere similar back in roughly 1000AD. The chasers were shooting arrows at us and narrowly missing. My cousin and I ducked into a house to escape them but they were closing in on us and there was nowhere left for us to hide. We lay on the floor with our hands over our heads waiting to be killed, but we weren't. When I looked up there was a man standing in front of us, protecting us. He leapt in front of the arrows and was killed. My cousin and I were saved, and then I woke up.

I know what you're all going to say when you read this, but, even though there was no evidence for it I knew that the man that saved us was Jesus.

I'm not religious in any way, I never have been. I'm not against religion and feel that if people need something to believe in then as long as it doesn't harm anyone and they don't push it on me, it's fine, but I don't personally believe in any 'higher power'.

So, any idea what it means?

I am not sure if dreams mean anything. Well, I don't usually think the narrative of a dream means much. I do, however, think the type fo dream does.

I could be wrong here but when one has a lucid dream it usually means they are stressed out or very tired. You might also have sleep paralysis, which might account for the feeling of how real the dream was. I suffer from that a lot. It can take a while to get used to. Always important to remember that they are dreams though, and not alien abductions as some weird people firmly believe.

Perhaps you have a lot on your mind. Perhaps you need a short break to relax and forget about your deadlines and history assignments( judging by your description of your dream it sounds like you know a hell of a lot about life 1000 years ago.)

To dream that you are being chased, signifies that you are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable. It is a metaphor for some form of insecurity. In particular, to dream that you are chased by an animal, represents your own unexpressed and unacknowledged anger which is being projected onto that animal. Alternatively, you may be running away from a primal urge or fear.
To see an arrow in your dream, represents the targets that you are reaching for and the goals you are setting for yourself. Alternatively, the arrow also signifies an end to suffering and the beginning of new-found pleasures and festivities.�If you are hit by an arrow, then it symbolizes release or exposure of some tension and pressure. Consider the body part that the arrow hits.

hmmm me personally if you honestly believe it was jesus that saved you from those arrows, sounds like a message that not matter the danger he will be there to protect you(yes i am religious) least thats how i view specially you guys are runnin for you lives then someone out of no where saves you and you are getting that feeling it was him. hope that sheds some light on what the meaning behind your dream. also could be something else completely

Muslims frequently experience dreams about Jesus and then they give their lives to Him and trust in His saving power. All this while their families want to kill them for leaving islam.

You have had a dream where you say "the man that saved us was Jesus" Yet immediatly afterward you say it is ok to believe in something as long as it doesn't harm anyone. It seems that the people who wanted to kill you in the dream felt differently. You say as long as they don't push it on me, its fine. Notice that you are pushing, or selling your point of view here.

I believe that Jesus wants you to trust in him and he wants you to believe in Him. Ask Him about this dream.
