I have had multiple dreams about dogs recently. There is a lot of variation in the behavior and kind of dogs involved. One dream I had was about a big grey dog that would always look for me and follow me and almost hunt me down. I was always distracted in my dream because I was always trying to avoid this dog that I was unable to complete my normal tasks and it made me really scared of it. Another dream I had was one where my friend and I went and each got an adorable little yorkshire terrier puppy. He was tiny and cute, and very nice and calm and made me really happy in the dream. In that dream I had a hard time taking care of him, even though he was not a handful. Last night I had a dream about two dogs and a skunk that acted like a dog. In the beginning of the dream this fat, large, mean beagle was attacking me whenever I tried to fall asleep. It would jump up on me in my bed or try to get under the covers and bite my feet whenever it could, and when it would manage to jump up on me it would scratch me really hard and made me miserable. Then later on in the dream I was playing with a cute little bison frisee puppy and I was putting a cute little pink bow on it, but then this man came in with this weird skunk that was like a dog and it was on a leash, and he released the skunk dog thing, and it came up and scared the cute puppy away and sprayed everything. It was really weird.
Whats bothering me is that I feel like these dog dreams mean something and I just cannot figure out what...
Hi there Liz, I normally don't do this but I had a sneak peek at your other questions and noticed there were A LOT about dieting, excersising, binging, being hungry and ballet.
The dogs represent these aspects of yourself. The big grey dog is aways watching you, it is hunting you down. Hunting is something dogs do when they are HUNGRY. The grey dog in your dreams represents your hunger. The hunger is always there, it is DISTRACTING you from getting on with your life. You are always trying to AVOID this hunger and you are AFRAID of it.
The Yorkshire terrier represents you as you want to be, when you are able to diet and excercise and stay in control of your size and weight. The dog is tiny, cute, adorable, very nice, calm and "not a handful". This dog makes you happy. Note also that the Yorkshire terrier is a PUPPY in your dream alluding to the fact that you don't want the curves that come with being a woman, you want to remain in the shape of a girl.
However, you have trouble looking after the Yorkshire terrier - meaning it is VERY difficult for you to maintain your strict diet and excersise regime.
Then in the dream there is the fat mean beagle, which represents you when you are binging. When you go to bed, this dog bothers you. Meaning when you are tired, when all you want to do is rest, that's when the beagle gets under the covers and nips at your heels and makes you miserable. When you are tired and exhausted and can't go on anymore, that's when you binge.
Then you are playing with the Frisee Bison puppy and are putting a bow on it. This puppy represents you as the dancer and performer (note it is also a puppy).
But the skunk comes and scares the puppy away and sprays everything. This represents your fear that you will no longer be able to maintain the body of a ballerina.
You had these dreams because your dream self wanted to send you a very clear message that you have a serious and potentially life threatening disorder and you need to give some attention to this, you need to take care of yourself both physically and emotionally. You need to be kind to yourself, and stop being so critical and mean about your body.
I found it interesting that your dream self chose a beagle. Beagles are well known for their loyalty, their good nature, playfulness, their heightened senses and their love of adventure. In your dream, you only saw a fat mean dog that made you miserable.
Perhaps if you get to know the beagle better, if you treat it with kindness and love, you will find happiness and contentment.
.ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Beagles are also known for being stubborn. Is this you in real life? Do you ignore the people who love you when they say they are worried about you and what you are doing to your body? I also noticed that you NEVER choose a best answer for your questions. Well you might never meet us and we may well live on the other side of the world to you but we are REAL people who DO CARE enough to respond (and we would love to get some response or acknowledgement from you!? Please? :-)
A SENSIBLE SUGGESTION: You don't have to give up your dream of being a dancer because your body is changing. There are plenty of other dance disciplines that respect the shape of a woman's body - do some research into other dance styles that you can enjoy. Personally I think that the institution of ballet has caused more eating disorders and body image problems than all the women's magazines and cat walk models put together. And what's more, those associated with ballet just get away with it without question! In my opinion they have a lot to answer for! Don't accept it, it is wrong and is a VERY unhealthy lifestyle.
Please take care and I really hope you read this - would love to get some feedback from you.
Example: Weird dream interpretation----?
I had a dream that my sister was carrying our Yorkshire Terrier through the front yard of some house when all of a sudden a goose of some sort started attacking her. I ran out and tried to scare it away. I stomped at it and when i did, it transformed into a goose with a dog head. Then it started attacking me so I punched it. Then its right ear turned into a beak, its other ear turned into wings and it grew webbed feet out of its chin. It started to fly away and i thought i was victorious. When I was yelling at the neighbors to do something, someone shouted. The goose thing shot a flaming arrow at me. I ripped the arrow out of my back, but my jacket caught on fire. I did the "STOP, DROP AND ROLL!" thing they teach in preschool to put the fire out. By now it had morphed back into a normal goose. I shot it in the head with a hunting rifle and ripped it to pieces and burned it. Just to make sure it was dead. Then I woke up.
Weirdest dream i ever had.
Example: Dreams That I Had in 2007?
The day I seen UFO’s It was like no other. The date was January 11, 2007 at 7:20pm I seen UFO’s, I remember going outside with my dog Yorkshire terrier named Jake. We were in the front yard I was letting him used the bathroom on the grass. I remember in my mind I thought of a Creator I learned about named Yahweh. I said to my self Yahweh please let me see a UFO.
Sure enough no lye I seen UFO’s 12 UFO’s in a row that lead of to 12-16 each in a shape of a pyramid they were heading east in a zigzagging motion. My dog was looking at the street and he seen the blue reflection from the concrete. So that’s why I know they were their for real and my mind was not playing tricks on me.
The color of these UFO’s was like the color of water at the Bahamas a clear blue with a neon glow to them. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen hopefully I see more. I did my research on this happening with me and I live in Florida and Israel lines exactly up with the place I live it you was to draw a line from here to their.
My dream I had 4 months later on May was the most strangest ever. I see why Moses was scared when it sounds like a man you con not see is speaking to you. I was sleep and I went into a dream I was in the first person view and I can see my dream about 85 % visual. I was in some type of woods walking on this kind of mountain I do not know where I was … As I dreamed on I stopped in my spot on the mountain and a bush began to glow like if rays was shooting from it.
As I looked I felt heat from this shinny place. When suddenly I heard a voice says ‘Keep Reading Those Books, You’ll Attain More Insight’ I woke up kind of scared. The next day of May I had a part two to my dream. I was sleeping in my outer body so good that I didn’t wake up in my inner body dream I was scared kind of with my mouth wide looking at this shiny place.
Then the light shined and I seen this man I seen his face and he was black and he looked like me but around the age of 45 or 55 and he had clothes like if he came from the ancient days of Egypt or Israel. His turban was like a dark blue and it was kind of sliding off his head to where I could see some of his hair. He waved to me and I waved back as I was scared I walked away kind of scared when he smiled at me and returned to the light and then I woke up again.
The coolest thing ever is that I read the Old Testament and Ancient Sumerian, Babylonian, Native American and Mayan Epics and some Epics on Atlantis. The fact is that these books this voice told me to ‘Keep Reading These Books You’ll Attain More Insight’ was this voice of a man who sounded black telling me that it’s a mystery that they won’t me to understand.
I am currently interesting in possibly breeding my yorkshire terriers in the future and was looking for some tips or information from step one to the end result. Im in no rush to breed and am solely interested in the well being of my own dogs and the possible pups, not in making money or to "recreate" my babies. A member of my family is an experianced breeder of pomeranians and could possibly give me some advice, but im not sure of the similarities quite and have not yet discussed this with her. I would have both of my dogs fully vet checked as i have looked into the genetic issues etc. and realise the risks involved, but was just wondering if anyone has info from the initial breed to the pregnancy up until the pups, as i want to make sure ive fully done my research.
I have a Yorkshire Terrier his 2 years old I have found a female to breed him with.
I have never done this before, and would like to know how I should go about this and how much to charge. Is there anyone out there that could help me with this and thank you in advance.
I love the breed and would love to enhance it. I would like to breed for personality, tempermant, and akc standards. Where do I start?
I dreamt i was walking down a main road behind a lady holding the hand of a small toddler and they had a little Yorkshire terrier (kind of like Toto out of the wizard of oz) with them. They stopped to cross the road and the little dog ran across in front of them and just as they were about to cross a car drove past, i thought it had missed the dog. The car did not stop but after it had driven off i saw the dog and it had been run over right through its hips which were all broken and bleeding. The lady looked heartbroken and as i rushed over the child who had appeared stunned started to scream. The lady tended to the dog and i picked up the child to comfort them.
Then i woke up. I don't normally question dreams but it was so grotesque and vivid it has stayed with me for a few days...
Can anyone tell me what this may mean?
So I'm buying a little female Yorkie, and I plan to breed her at least a couple of times. In the following two years, I want to learn as much about breeding dogs as I can, especially teeny tiny (well... not that small) Yorkshire terriers. My little girl is going to be aproximately six to eight pounds, if you need to know.
If my plan works out for me, I will be getting a puppy June, 2010! I am beyond excited :). I have been waiting for a very long time, and my parents feel that by then I will be responsible enough. They already feel I am responsible, But im still in school and I need to finish the year. I will be almost 15 when I get this puppy.
I just have one small problem.. I cant decide on a breed. I am scared that when summer 2010 comes around, I still will be unsure and I will ruin my chances of getting my dream puppy. I know that I want a small-medium dog. Nothing Over 50-60 pds. I want a dog that I can be able to play with [throw a ball, frisbee, play in the snow]. I want a dog that can jog & run with me, but at the same time, I want a dog that will stay loyal to me and love to cuddle. I want a dog that is going to be very friendly to everyone, but yet still be My dog. I live in Wisconsin, and we have long cold winters [usually] and hot summers. I need a dog that will be able to survive both of these. My parents have two dogs [almost 1 year old Weim. & 2 year old Cocker Spaniel] and we also have a cat. We live in town, on about 2 acres of land. I go to school like I said, but after school I am home, and most of the time on the weekends I am home also. My mom doesnt work, so she would be watching my puppy during the day. Some breeds that I have been considering are;
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Cardigan Welsh Corgi
Miniature Australian Shepherd
Oh, I forgot to add.. i want a dog that will be fairly easy to potty train too.
If you think you know a breed that would be good for me, please dont be afraid to suggest it. That is why im asking this question in the first place. I really need someones help! Thanks!
*Also.. For a first time dog, what would be better.. Male or Female?
Is there really any difference?
Example: VERY strange dream last night?
I'm sixteen and last night I was spending the night at my friends house. I was sleeping on a sofa and I was wearing jeans and a jacket so I wasn't very comfortable and I kept floating in and out of reality. (Like I kept becoming conscious and looking at the clock above the TV, but then I'd fall back asleep a second later.) I had either one dream or multiple dreams, and either way it or they were very strange.
In my first dream that I remember, I was at school. I was in my science classroom except there was nothing on the walls and my teacher wasn't there and there were desks like we have in my other classes instead of the science tables we have in science class. The desks were in a circle around a very small, 2 foot by 2 foot shower. Some people were in the desks talking to each other but I do not remember who, and most of the desks were empty. All of a sudden a man got out of the shower naked except he did not have his "manliness". I remember thinking at first that perhaps I just couldn't see it, like it was behind his leg or something. But a second later I realized he simply didn't have one. It wasn't like someone cut it off or it was surgically removed or anything. It was sort of just a lump down there but smoothed over and very natural looking. He then just walked out of the room like it was no big deal. And so it's been bugging me all day, WHAT DOES THAT STRANGE MAN MEAN? I've tried looking it up on the internet but there are no dream sites about "manliness"less men!
I also recall a dream last night about being in a very green backyard of a house I've never been to before. There were at least two dogs in the yard. There may have been more but I can't remember. One dog was a chocolate lab with big light brown eyes, although it was sleek and slender like a weimaraner rather than a lab. It was such a beautiful dog. I was talking to an elderly woman I think but I did not see her in my dream and I have never met her in real life. It was like she was standing out of my frame of sight. This was her house and her dogs. For some reason I was trying to get the beautiful lab to come to me so I could pet her or something but the lab kept running away from me and looking at me like she wanted me to follow me. My yorkshire terrier does this sometimes. She would run a little and then look back to make sure I was following. The whole time we were getting closer and closer to the house. Does the dog mean anything or the lady or anything?
Please help me. Thank you!
