Example: What is the meaning of these dreams?

Some years ago I dreamt of a desert area in which I was running. It was afternoon and the sun was overhead, hot and burning. I saw some people pouring some soil-like liquid on an old man tied to a pole. I ran away scared , into a den. There I saw Lord Shiva, angry , with his trident pointing towards me. We circled each other . It seemed as if we were enemies . Then he suddenly chased me and I started running in panic and I woke up.
Recently I saw a dream in which I was in a den.The view outside revealed a pleasant , cool atmosphere. It was morning. In the den I had before me Lord Shiva.I was touching his feet and he was blessing me.

These dreams were vivid and are real, not a made-up story. What do you think they imply?

Do dreams in our time have special meaning?

What have researchers learned about dreams?
“Everyone dreams,” says The World Book Encyclopedia (1984, Vol. 5, p. 279). “Most adults dream for about 100 minutes during eight hours of sleep.” So dreams are a normal human experience.
Said Dr. Allan Hobson, of Harvard Medical School: “They are ambiguous stimuli which can be interpreted in any way a therapist is predisposed to. But their meaning is in the eye of the beholder—not in the dream itself.” When reporting this, the “Science Times” section of The New York Times added: “Within the school that places great value on dreams, there are many approaches to finding the psychological message of a dream, each reflecting different theoretical outlooks. A Freudian will find one kind of meaning in a dream, while a Jungian will find another, and a Gestalt therapist will find still another meaning. . . . But the view that dreams have psychological meaning at all has come under strong attack from neuroscientists.”—July 10, 1984, p. C12.

Can dreams that seem to impart special knowledge come from a source other than God?
Jer. 29:8, 9: “This is what Jehovah of armies . . . has said: ‘Let not your prophets who are in among you and your practicers of divination deceive you, and do not you listen to their dreams that they are dreaming. For “it is in falsehood that they are prophesying to you in my name. I have not sent them,” is the utterance of Jehovah.’”

Harper’s Bible Dictionary informs us: “Babylonians had such trust in dreams that on the eve of important decisions they slept in temples, hoping for counsel. Greeks desiring health instruction slept in shrines of Aesculapius [whose emblem was a serpent], and Romans in temples of Serapis [at times associated with a coiled serpent]. Egyptians prepared elaborate books for dream interpretation.”—(New York, 1961), Madeleine Miller and J. Lane Miller, p. 141.

In the past, God used dreams to give warnings, instruction, and prophecy, but is he leading his people in that way now?

References to such dreams originating with God are found at Matthew 2:13, 19, 20; 1 Kings 3:5; Genesis 40:1-8.

Heb. 1:1, 2: “God, who long ago spoke on many occasions and in many ways [including dreams] to our forefathers by means of the prophets, has at the end of these days spoken to us by means of a Son [Jesus Christ, whose teachings are recorded in the Bible].”

1 Cor. 13:8: “Whether there are gifts of prophesying [and at times God conveyed prophecies to his servants by means of dreams], they will be done away with.”

2 Tim. 3:16, 17: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching . . . that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”

1 Tim. 4:1: “However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances [sometimes conveyed in dreams] and teachings of demons.”

Example: Meaning of this dream?

my dog that is only 1years old was in my dream but he was back as a little puppy? 2 hot pink kittens in the dream and there was a doll wearing a black leotard and my brother was also in it too.

i know 2 guys in my life? and my brother also and other family and other people. what could this dream mean?

Kitten: To see non-white or soiled kittens indicates trouble ahead for you.

Hot Pink The appearance of hot pink color in your dream represents sex and lust.

Black
Black symbolizes the unknown, the unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, rejection, hate or malice. The color invites you to delve deeper in your unconscious in order to gain a better understanding of yourself. It also signifies a lack of love and lack of support.More positively, black represents potential and possibilities. It is like a clean or blank slate.

Brother
To see your brother in your dream symbolizes some aspect of your relationship with him. It can also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has certain characteristics or behaviors similar to your brother.

Puppy
To see a puppy in your dream symbolizes your playfulness and carefree nature. It also refers to a blossoming friendship. If you are taking care of a puppy, then it means that you are reliable and trustworthy. Others can depend on you, especially during difficult times.

Example: What could this dream mean?

I had a dream that I was by myself and nobody was there like everyone disappear then a asteroid came down and then I found myself in a field of fire but I did not die. Then I drift off to another dimension like a new earth and new soil. What could this mean?

Example: What does this dream mean?

I had a dream that I was preparing for a wedding and picking out flowers. There were different colours for the same type of flower and I was choosing the flowers based on their type and not on their colour. I tried to pick the type of flowers that were most compatible with the person we were going to marry since each type of flower had a different personal characteristic. I had to pick 4 types of flowers. The flowers lay in movable plastic cups with soil in them and each plastic cup had multiple pieces of the the same type of colour and flower in them while a different movable cup would have a series of flowers that were a different breed and colour in them. I selected 4 cups of 4 types of flowers and colours but there was a problem with 2 of the flower cups - which was that 50% of the flowers in those 2 cups had died and only half of them remained a live. The person getting the flowers for me had to be tactful so that they would get the flowers that were living and not the flowers that were dead.

I have been thinking lately about who I should I marry and I've been interested in 2 people so far - along with a previous 3rd interest that might also lead to something long term.

I also thought I should play hard to get to get the guys I want.

Example: Idk what my dream means?

so like i had my first kiss and all yesterday and my dream was that i was in school (at the place where we kissed) and i was supposed to be making a love train out of humongous legos! idk what that means but it would fall apart at some parts and i would go and fix it up. it was also really frustrating. does anyone know what my dream means? the kiss was also like, well, unexpected too. he's my friend but idk what we call each other now. life is rough don't you agree ,anyway, i found one meaning about dreaming about legos but i don't understand it. wanna help? thx for those you helped and God bless you:))

to see or play with legos in your dream, indicates your ability to make something out of a single block. It may refer to the "building blocks" or foundation of some plan. The dream may also be a pun on "let go".

thx again, jackie

Example: What does this dream mean?

well i dreamed about this kid that i fought before like 3 times and beat cuz he made fun of my family and me - in the dream him and his friend had their hair dyed orange for halloween, and he was making fun of me, so i grabbed him and kept hitting him with a rage that i cant really describe - i was just REALLY angry - and when i was done his friend walked up to him and said - HE'S O.D KNOCKED OUT - "o.d knocked out" means "he's REALLY knocked out!" what does this mean?

Example: What does my dream mean?

I dreamt last night that a guy who I went to high school with (8 years ago!) died. I dreamt I saw his photograph in the newspaper. Next thing I was at his funeral and his father (who I have never met in real life) was talking about him, and started explaining the circumstances around his death. Next thing it was like I jumped back in time and was a fly on the wall - a witness to what happened to him. Turns out he was held captive before being tortured and killed. I was very upset in the dream.

We haven't seen each other since high school - over 8 years ago - and I while we never spoke at school we chatted online a few years afterwards every so often... that being said, I haven't heard from him in about a year or 2... which is strange that I would dream about him, right? We share the same birthday, and our 26th is coming up in a couple of weeks...

The dream felt very real - does this mean anything?

Example: What does this falling dream mean?

I just answered a question about dreams, and it made me want to ask about one of my dreams. Most of my dreams are very unusual, so I will ask about one of my more mild dreams.

I'm sure a lot of you have heard the myth that if you fall off of a high precipice in your dreams you will wake up before you hit the bottom because if you hit the bottom in your dream you will die in real life. I have evidence that this is a myth. I have hit the bottom.

In my dream, I accidentally fell off a really high cliff. I fell for about ten seconds. When I was falling, I did not want to die, but I was not afraid of it. I felt calm and ready. I know that sounds strange, but the best way I can explain that sensation is with an analogy: It was kind of like going to work. I don't really want to go to work, but I am not anxious about it and I am ready for what comes next when I get there.

In my dream I saw the landscape getting closer and closer until I could see even the details of the soil beneath me, and then I hit the bottom. I didn't feel any pain when I hit. Everything went black for a second, and then I dreamed about having an out of body experience where I left my badly bludgeoned body at the bottom of the cliff and floated away.

It was kind of odd because once I died I thought to myself, "Well, I guess I'll just get back to what I was doing before I was born". Mostly I went around observing current events and talking to other dead people about what was going on. I could also see evil spirits who were going around whispering in the ears of those who were still alive, and that made me very sad. I tried to talk to the live people also, but they wouldn't listen to me.

Next in my dream, God came to me and told me he wanted me to watch a serial killer and told me that if he tried to kill again it would be my job to stop him. This killer was stalking a young woman that I knew from before and cared a lot about. I followed him for many days while he obsessed over her. It was hard to do because the evil spirits that were urging him on were also trying to stop me from doing my job. He had made up his mind to kill her, so a few days latter (before he had the chance to go through with it) I touched him where the neck connects to the shoulder and he had a stroke. He lived, but still wanted to kill. He used to kill by strangulation, but he was to weak to do that now that he had the stroke, so he decided he would change his method and start poisoning people. When I found out, I gave him one more stroke that killed him. After he died, his spirit looked at me and asked me why I killed him. I told him God sent me because the girl he wanted to murder still had a purpose in life, and he was to evil to be left on the earth. I didn't want him to die, but it was better this way.

So what does this dream mean?

Example: What does this haunting dream mean?

It was raining and i was living in a large house with many people,it was like a school but the building was a classic manor.
The rain was so catastrophic(i didn't see it,they just told me)that a room that we forgot to close the window had gotten all messy.Me and a red haired boy with glasses looked at the mess and decided to leave it be.But just as i was going to walk out,he persuaded me to look carefully in the soil that covered the floor.I found the heads of three small squirells.
I felt very sad but not disgusted. Then the heads became real squirells and then they turned into three colorful plush dolls that looked like puppies.
But in the dream they weren't plush dolls. They were little dog corpses and we played with them sadly.
Just as we were going to throw them out of the window, they turned into female dolls. But in the dream they were dead children.I felt even more sad and tried to be sure if they were really dead or not.
I decided they really were dead and tried to leave them in the room,so i asked them one last time:are you dead?one of them moved and replied:no!
the other one did the same.
i hurried out of the room and asked my best friend who was waiting outside instead of the red haired boy what to do:leave the doll-children be or welcome them in the house?
she was very worried and tried to warn me to leave the children in the nature outside.I didn't know what to do so i asked for the protection of the headmaster of the school, that was a person from my art school in the dream.
