Example: What does this dream mean?

I had this dream last night where I was going to my first elementary school's playground with all of my family members and all of my closest friends. Me and my parents got up onto the high up jungle gym and they turned me around and pushed me off of it. When I looked down there was a big ocean with alligators waiting to eat me. While I was falling, I saw some of the memories i've had throughout my life and then I got eaten.
What does this mean?

I may not understand what is required in an open question, but here is what I think your dream meant: This dream is clearly a dream of transformation. There are still vestiges of ancient rituals in which dramas very much like that of your dream were acted out. They celebrated the coming of age of a child. With certain so called primitive peoples such rituals are still strong today. There is one for girls that have begun to menstruate. This involves ritual (pretend) killing of the girl that is no more a girl, but a woman able to bear children. The ritual will always take place with all the women of the clan involved.

Interesting is to see that some fairy stories hark back to such rituals. Red Ridinghood is one of them. There the little girl who had brought cakes to granny was swallowed by the wolf. It was a wolf because the ritual that inspired this story was happening in a land where there were wolves. The swallowing of the girl meant that she was dying to her childhood and that she would emerge from the wolf’s belly as a menstruating woman which is signalled by the red hood. In Egypt such transformations took place inside a crocodile with the same result.

Your own dream ritual is closely associated with the ancient Egyptian one which may be because you live in a country where crocodiles figure strongly in people’s mind or that crocs for you inspire fear. Fear is actually part of this ritual for no one likes to die, not even to childhood.

The whole dream is a modern scenario for such a transformation. It takes you back to your primary school to show you clearly that the passing of childhood is a stake.

What I find extraordinarily interesting is that the centre of the ritual is the JUNGLE gym. Even though this steel structure of this play ground equipment is as far removed from the jungle as can be, its name nevertheless takes you back to a time of a totally natural and unspoilt life. That it has to end is shown in a rather uncompromising manner by TURNING you around and then pushing you off. The very phrasing your dream employs shows that you have reached a point in life where there is a TURNING POINT.

Since we all resist growing up and fear the impending responsibilities the dream has to resort to force which is exercised by your parents which in the ancient rituals were the elders of the tribe. They symbolise the relentless onwards march of life. It stops for no one and in that regard your parents represent the innate aging process of life.

The OCEAN below is an icon for the beginning of life. As you may know Darwin said that life began in the ocean as a tiny amoeba. What Darwin said was of course only a projection of what is happening in the human context. Our women carry the water of life or the amniotic fluid where we first swim as fishlike creatures. Since you have already been born the falling into the ocean signals a kind of REBIRTH, which in your case may well be 'being born' into a grown up woman replacing the child.

What I found utterly astonishing is the surfacing of childhood memories while you were falling. This is actually something that does happen to some people when they are in the grips of the fear of death. Some say that their whole life had rewound itself in fine details. Thus for you this ritual dying has been made quite realistic, but then some rituals among unspoilt peoples like the Aborigines of Australia were not short of real bloodletting.

These people for instance had a common initiation ritual where a young boy was ritually killed before he was made to a medicine man. In this ritual certain incisions into his body were made and then after a time he was declared to be dead. The women would weep as if they had actually lost one of their tribal members. And like in Red Ridinghood such a boy would then be kept in a dark cave that was the belly of a giant serpent where he was reborn to the status of a fully qualified medicine of whom it was said, after he had emerged from the darkness, that he no longer had to walk but now could fly from place to place.

Example: What does my dream mean?!?

Last night I had a dream that I was with my crush. We were in this building. I wasn't quite sure what type of building it was, but It looked an awful like a church. We went into this building together and sat down on a bench. As I start looking around, I reckognize almost all of the people, like my step dad, my mom, and my 4 other siblings. I saw my crushes parents and his brother. I basically saw all of my family and all of his family. I thought it was a church because both families were wearing formal clothing and everyone was praying and celebrating something. I then reckognized this one girl, her name was Haley and I found it awkward that she was the only one their that was not Christian. She is Jewish, not that I have a problem with them, I just found coincidental, that she was the only one their. Everyone started singing in a language that I did not know, it sounded nothing like I had heard before. Shortly after, it was only Haley singing this weird *** song, then it ended with my crush singing in this language. Haley then got upset with me because I let him sing. My crush then kissed my neck and then my lips spontaneously. After that everyone cheered.

I have no clue what this means. Right before I went to sleep, I tried to lucid dream and put his name under my pillow with the question: Is ****** the right guy for me? . So I don't know if that may have been the answer to my question, but I would like someone to clarify this for me.

Just for the record, we both are only 14.

Example: What does this dream mean?

i had this dream a year or two ago but my mind refuses to forget it. this is what i saw:
i walked into the top of a large L shaped room. it was filled with people sitting down and folding small white sheets. they were all wearing white. i went down the whole "l" part of the L and turned into the "_" part of it i went all the way down and noticed a pretty big group of people (still sitting) crowded around someone/something. i went closer to get a better look (i was standing in the whole dream) and saw a possessed girl (also wearing white and sitting down).
i woke up then (not startled, but as if that was the end of the dream and time to wake up).
please tell me what this means

Example: WereWolf Dream, do dreams mean anything important?

It was a continuous nightmare I would suffer every other week. It was a humanoid Wolf that would hunt me. There would be many ways in which he tried to kill me and I had to survive. It is obviously in my head but the repetition of my own antagonist made it much more real to me. The wolf's name was Lobo. I saw it written in blood on the wall "Lobo sees your dead body lying next to him" using the blood of this child from his slit throat. that one I was stuck in this house with him chasing. There was more or less themes to each nightmare, Lobo's Games would be what he called it, he'd often say "We meet once more James, you can not hide from Lobo's Games". It was bloody scary because he could jump out at any time. He could be in 3 forms, Werewolf, actual wolf and disguised as a human. Once you stared into his yellow iris with a black stripe as a pupil you became weak as if you were hit with a tranquilliser dart.

Lobo did not want me dead, he wanted to torture me. The weird thing is he seems much more than an entity or a figment of my imagination, he seems as if he actually is part of my being. If I were to see him in real life I would be scared.
I was having a conversation where we slipped onto dreams, I happened to speak about Lobo and she demanded I explain more. Being what I have just told you. She said many dreams are our subconcious subliminally telling us problems or thinking about them. I have suffered from anxiety at some points in my life, especially after my father died in fight related incident. She reckons it has something to do with that.

Back to Lobo. a few years ago was when Lobo said now is his time for me to be killed. I managed to convince him to have a one on one. The background was a ritual based area with a shovel in the middle. I picked it up to use as a weapon. I went to attack him but he pounced and pinned me down. I used the long handle of the shovel to shove in Lobo's mouth then I kicked him in the chest. I then managed to get up and brawl. He scared me a couple of times then I became delirious, however I whispered 'verr flucht ist von nicht merr'. I looked it up on google translate and it's german but it didn't make sense so Idk. He then blasted back and fell slowly to the ground. He said roughly 'for now I rest and your soul I'll haive, thus I regain my strength and you replace my grave." To this day that scares the hell out of me.

the question is, do you think dreams really mean anything? I know they are effected by what we see and do but honestly is my brain trying to do something important or clever?

Example: What Does My Dream Mean?

I had this dream a few nights ago and it's been bothering me ever since.
The dream: It was nighttime but I had just woken up. I went into the bathroom to take a bath. I get undressed and turn on the faucet, but instead of water coming out it was black goo. I get into the bathtub anyway. After some time of sitting in my bathtub I fall asleep. I dream of a red pentagram. I snap awake. I am still in the tub, but all of the goo was gone. The only thing in the tub was a black, half melted candle. When I start to turn the faucet back on I can hear a soft banging noise in the back of my head and I feel a throbbing pain in my head.Water starts to come out of the faucet and the candle starts to melt. As I turn the faucet up the banging gets louder, the headache gets worse and the candle melts more. Just before the candle is melted everything stops, a low, dark voice says "DO IT" and there is one last extremely loud bang. I wake up feeling very scared and I didn't want to open my eyes.

Example: Flaming symbol in dream meaning?

I recently started thinking of a dream I had a few years ago. It seemed to last a very short time and in it I saw fire moving to create a symbol with a completely black background. The symbol is a cross with a curve- the curve is a perfect U and the bottom touched the part of the horizontal line right where it intersects the vertical one. It reminds me of a pitch fork in some way...
I tried to unsuccessfully find an image of it. Does anyone have an idea of what it may mean? Thank you.
