How Old Is My Dog Is Suppose To Be So That She Can be Pregnat?
I assume you are asking how to be a responsible breeder. :-)
1. Contact a breed club for your breed. Ask for a mentor.
2. STUDY the breed standard. Learn about dog anatomy and ask your mentor to
clarify anything you don't understand.
3. Learn what genetic faults and diseases run in your breed and test for any
that can be tested for.
4. Show your dog in conformation events to see if it is of the proper
quality for breeding. Winning doesn't always mean a dog is breeding quality,
but being around so many others that know your breed and will talk to you
will do wonders for your self-education efforts!
5. Study the past history of great dogs in your breed. You will see how your
breed has improved and progressed since the beginning of the breed.
6. Study the breed standard some more! ;-)
7. Join any Yahoo groups about your breed.
8. Live, dream and study your breed.
9. Get a good book on canine reproduction, and educate yourself about the
pitfalls, problems, and proud moments of breeding. Learn about the
physiology of reproduction, such as heat cycles and venereal diseases in
dogs, potential for problems specific to your breed, and what you need to
expect at whelping.
10. Remember that whelping (giving birth) can kill your female. Being used
as a stud dog can encourage bad behaviors common in intact males such as
territorial marking, aggression, and desire to roam from home.
11. Prepare to be broke. Breeding properly is EXPENSIVE.
12. Line up potential homes for any puppies you produce and write up a
contract. Remember to include that you will be willing to take back your
puppies at any time in their lives that they might need you. If you bring
life into this world, it is your responsibility FOREVER.
13. Prepare to spend sleepless nights attending whelping females, caring for
fading puppies or puppies orphaned, and practice cleaning up after 24/7 poop
I'm sure there are many things I missed because being a responsible breeder
isn't just a job. It's a way of life. You will live dogs. 24/7/365. There
are lots of hard decisions. There is a lot of expense. There will be pain.
But, if you do your darndest to always keep the welfare of your dogs and the
future of any of their offspring, you can go to step 14.
14. Enjoy the love and success of a job well done.
ADDED: You'll have no luck at all breeding your dog until you learn it's breed. There is NO "miniature Doberman pinscher". There's the minature pinscher, the German pinscher, and the Doberman.
I had a VERY vivid detailed dream that a lady could no longer keep her Doberman Pinscher, so she gave him to me. He was such a sweet heart, and he REALLY liked me. His name was Pistachio, and he was around 9, or 10 months old. He wore a red collar, his ears were cropped, and his tail was docked. He was black and tan. This dream was very vivid and it seemed so real!
Do you think this dream means anything at all? Or should i just ignore it because i might have been thinking about dogs a little to much?
Well...I had this Doberman pinscher named Tooya...He was my best buddy...one of the best dogs I ever had...We played together everyday..and I always look forward to going home from school coz I know that he'll come running at the door to greet me...but he died August of last year from Anemia..I have no siblings and I'm always alone in our house and I saw him as my little brother...imagine the pain of loosing Tooya.
I think about him everyday and I've been dreaming about him at night 2 or 3 times a week...Do you think its his way of visiting me? or am i just talking crazy?
it wasnt strictly about killing my mom.. i had a reason (in the dream).. all i remember is that my mom started going crazy and she wanted to kill my dog (my small mini pinscher aka a baby doberman)...in this dream she was able the pierce my dogs skin with a knife.. and i remember i was not able to have the strength to hold her off from doing so.. and i don't exactly remember how i killed my mom... but i remember that i did somehow.. then i remember calling my ex- girlfriend to talk about it...(still in the dream)..i woke up with my eyes encrusted with dried up tears from crying about my mom being dead because of me.. does this dream hold any specific meaning?
FYI: no, i don't hate my mom, i love her to death.
no, my parents are not divorced..
yes, i still think about my ex girlfriend.
Example: Gestation time for mini dobermans?
shes only 8 months old how long before shes ready to breed i rescued her from abusive keepers n really dont wont to subject her to breeding right now
Example: I was in Bergdorf Goodman?
I had a dream that my mother, uncle and I were wondering around Bergdorf Goodman after it was closed. It was night and the store was obviously dark so we were looking around with a flashlight in our hands. Feeling a little scared (my uncle was calm and so was my mother), I said we should look for an exit and just when we were looking for (an exit). We encountered the guard dog which was free of a leash and was a either vicious doberman pinscher or rottweiler. We ran to the nearest exit which slightly ajar when we got to it (this is not the door we used to get inside of the store). Feeling relieved, we continued running at much lower speed in the direction of central park (we were along the side walk that is adjacent to it).
I wonder if I had this dream only because I went to Bergdorf a few days ago (maybe..) or because it actually had a significant meaning to it (since I went to Bergdorf by myself, why would I then have a dream in it that my mother and uncle went there with me?)
I kind of figured out what I'd want to name a family of 4 siblings 3 young adults and their teenage sister and their female pet dog.
I've even named the other siblings, based on their persona or looks...
The oldest brother, Hunter Garrett (Aged 27)- A 'tough' name, because he is, Hot-headed, yet caring, over-protective, brave, has a career in air-force military...
The third brother, Zachary "Zach" Garrett (Aged 22)- A 'sexy' name, because he all stylish looking and cool, though unlike his brothers or sister, he can get easily scared and insecure. He is a party-animal, very dependable, yet very ambitious and is a talented singer and a guitarist.
The sister, Evelyn Garrett (Aged 18)- A 'pleasant' name, she pleasant and beautiful, but in personality wise, she is Head-strong, fearless daredevil, dedicated friend and she is a bastion of potential.
But I'm in a fix with the second brother, of what name to choose for him...
Here is his little character bio:
He is 25 years old.
"a split personality type of person, he is smart, as well as goofy. He can be just like his older brother in terms of protecting his family, friends and the society, but when it comes to understanding the feelings of his young sister, he is like his younger brother. After graduating, he joined for the law enforcement and is very attached to his companion dog. He sees a great potential in his young sister's dream of becoming a mixed martial artist, but wishes if their oldest brother would try to understand and stop being too worried about her safety, fearing she may hurt or kill herself."
There are two names I picked, which I felt were suited to his character, as he is 'smart', 'brave', 'funny', 'very friendly', 'good-natured', though he can get tough and violent, when bad things happen, especially to his family, friends or the society.
Liam Garrett ?
Caleb Garrett ?
Then he has a dog, a female and the type of dogs you use in the law enforcement, which one would best suit him ?
I've named her Sasha... It sounded lively and strong, what do you think ?
Thanks, and give your opinion of the better name to use for the character and is the last name for the siblings 'Garrett' suiting ? :)
my mom promised me i could have a dog (and my mom has never promised me anything in my 16 years of life, because she doesnt make promises she cant keep) so i know she will let me get a dog. BUT the issue is that she wont let me have a dog i actually want! i love pitbulls (just in case that wasnt obvious lol) but she said no to that because shes trying to get insurance on the house. i was just like ok, fair enough, i can accept that. so i started looking into other breeds and found the rottweiler (found meaning i decided that would be a good breed for me, since my dad had one at his house that i helped him train and care for, read I HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE BREED) and she said no she doesnt like dogs that drool... ok, back to the drawing board. next i ask her about doberman pinschers and she tells me that the actual reason shes been saying no is because these are all mean vicious breeds... and im just like wtf?! this is my dream shes talking about! all i want to do when i grow up is open a rescue for bully breeds, and now shes telling me shes one of the uneducated immature people im dedicating my life to fighting? OH and lets not forget that there all "guy" dogs! thats right, did i forget to mention my 20 year old brother has a pit mix in the back yard?!? my mom has got to be the most manipulative, ignorant, sexist woman i have ever met! is there ANY thing i can do to change her mind? PLEASE help me!
