Example: Man pregnancy: What could this dream mean?

I dreamt that this guy I have a crush on was pregnant, and was rushed quickly to hospital to have an emergency cesarean. After the procedure, he was told he had to stay in hospital for a few days, so that they could keep an I on his health, but he protested stubbornly, and insisted he leave the hospital and refused to take the painkillers that had been administered to him. He got out of the hospital bed, and began to walk to the other side of the room to collect his things and his baby from the crib, when he fell to the floor in pain. It was like watching a movie. What do you think this dream means?

Such a creative dream, Callie! Very nice.

The pregnancy and childbirth are a metaphor, of course. At the same time, we need to keep in mind that the dream is about you and your feelings, NOT about the actual guy you saw in the dream.

When there is no possibility of someone being pregnant, the pregnancy and baby represent an idea, project or task that is important to the dreamer - something being "developed" as a baby develops in the womb, and being brought to completion or manifestation as a child is brought to birth.

The pregnancy can also be a symbol of a relationship developing between two people. So IF the attraction between you and your crush is mutual, this dream could be about the relationship developing between you. BUT, if he does not return your affection, the meaning of the dream is quite different.

Men do not get pregnant or give birth - this suggests that your dream illustrates something that cannot be. Here in this dream is a man behaving very much like a stereotypical man, being stubborn and refusing pain meds, then collapsing. It is all wrong.

I'm thinking that the message of this dream COULD BE about your wanting this man to be something he can never be. You want the impossible so much that you would turn him into something he cannot be. In the process, the man would be destroyed.

But it is YOUR interpretation that is important, not Zia Lucia's. Here is a link to a page with more examples and discussion about pregnancy and baby dreams that might help you figure out the dream.

Example: What could my dream about giving birth mean? ?

I dreamt last night that I gave birth to a baby boy. The weirdest part was that the first part of the dream was like I was on a journey, I think in a raft with a tour guide and everything, through my own birth canal, and then it switched over to me giving birth.
Mind you, am am not now nor am I planning on giving birth at any time in the next 10 years! In fact, I'll probably want to adopt (preferably a boy) whenever I do decide to have kids.

Example: What do dreams about having a complicated childbirth mean?

The most important part of this is that I am not currently pregnant and I am 100% sure of that. I am in college and I keep having dreams about me having complications when I am delivering a child one day. I work at a daycare, I am in love with kids, especially babies and would like to have one someday...but not quite yet.

I had a dream that I woke up in the hospital. I was in a lot of pain, and a doctor came in and told me that I was having a baby. They couldn't find my family, so I had to have a natural childbirth...alone. I was afraid, and after hours and hours of pain that I swear I could actually feel, I successfully gave birth to a baby girl named amy. I've had the dream for 4 nights in a row now, and it hurts more every time. WHAT DOSE IT MEAN?
