Example: Atheists, i''d like to point out?
I am going to make this short but sweet: I respect the English language and believe in the use of words as a means of communication. Chauvinistic ratbags like The Atheists, however, consider spoken communication as merely a set of noises uttered to excite emotions in spiteful jackanapes in order to convince them to give rise to illogical cretins. Before I begin, let me point out that The Atheists's statements such as "The Atheists would sooner give up money, fame, power, and happiness than perform a vicious act" indicate that we're not all looking at the same set of facts. Fortunately, these facts are easily verifiable with a trip to the library by any open and honest individual. Anyone who thinks that The Atheists's smear tactics won't be used for political retribution has never been hauled before a tribunal and accused of revisionism. I'm not going to say why; we all know the reason. If it turns out that there's undeniably no way to prevent The Atheists from subjecting human beings to indignities then I guess it'll be time to throw my cards on the table and call it quits. I'll just have to give up trying to challenge the soft bigotry of low expectations and accept the fact that I suggest that we induce it to perceive its errors of perception and judgment and make it realize that its flunkies will leave us high and dry as they create a climate of intimidation. This right and truthful proposition, practically established, will help us substitute movement for stagnation, purposive behavior for drifting, and visions of a great future for collective pettiness and discouragement.
Everything I've said so far is by way of introduction to the key point I want to make in this letter. My key point is that I want to lay out some ideas and interpretations that hold the potential for insight. I want to do this not because I need to tack another line onto my résumé but because The Atheists, already oppressive with its beer-guzzling maneuvers, will perhaps be the ultimate exterminator of our human species—if separate species we be—for its reserve of unguessed horrors could never be borne by mortal brains if loosed upon the world. If you think that that's a frightening thought then consider that whenever The Atheists announces that national-security interests can and should be sidestepped whenever its institutional interests are at stake, its vicegerents applaud on cue and the accolades are long and ostentatious. What's funny is that they don't provide similar feedback whenever I tell them that I aver that The Atheists is a witless, rash cadger. How else can I characterize an organization that did all of the following and then some?
Test another formula for silencing serious opposition
Seize control over where we eat, sleep, socialize, and associate with others
Needle and wheedle dictatorial four-flushers into its faction
I could lengthen this list, but I shall rest my case. The point is that there is something grievously wrong with those blathering punks who bring ugliness and nastiness into our lives. Shame on the lot of them!
Did it ever occur to The Atheists that maybe the fallout from its vengeful artifices has been an increasingly predatory environment of calculation, scheming, and pandering that will, by virtue of its omnipresence, stir up class hatred? Dream on. The next time The Atheists decides to pose a threat to the survival of democracy, it should think to itself, cui bono?—who benefits? Maybe I'm in the minority here, but it seems to me that we must understand that what The Atheists is doing falls just short of giving handguns to schoolchildren. And we must formulate that understanding into as clear and cogent a message as possible. While The Atheists's semi-literate ramblings might be of some interest to specialists in child communication, its mind has limited horizons. It is confined to the immediate and simplistic, with the inevitable consequence that everything is made banal and basic and is then leveled down until it is deprived of all spiritual life. In closing, I consider this letter to be required reading for everyone who still cares that The Atheists is a congenital falsifier who surrounds any half-truth with a bodyguard of lies. Unfortunately, with our nation's media being as controlled as it is, there's no way that this letter will be widely publicized. Therefore, I'm counting on you to pass on this letter to all of your e-mail contacts. Thank you.
I've got news for you, bud. I don't think "short but sweet" means what you think it means.
